I’ve just got back from operating some relief flights into Haiti. It started with us transporting the UK Fire Service rescue guys down from London. We were delayed leaving due to the snow in southern UK. When we finally got going, we had to stop in halifax, Nova Scotia for fuel, before proceeding on to Santo Domingo in the DOminican Republic. Operations in to Port au Prince were very restricted after the earthquake. The crew finally got into Haiti 36 hoursafter the quake, but their heavy lifting equipment took another 24 hours. The rest of our time was spent in various Dominican hotels while we operated the occasional charter with people into or out of Port Au Prince
